Silent Sea

Abandoned Places, Series 4, Sheds

 

I rather like this one, these are also taken with my Diana F+, but as you can probably tell all three are of the same building. I believe its an old piggery thats situated in the farmers field beside our house. Nothing goes in there anymore, the cows dont even shelter in it.

I ran out of decent text for Adandoned, so using the good ol' thesaurus I found the word deserted. I think it works,  it is such a neat word and I love the way the word is seperated out so you can tell how to pronounce it. I will probably regret using it for this one, as I am sure something else will be better suited. But hopefully not.

More Photos taken with my Diana F+ from my trip last year in the states. The text was taken from the online dictionary, definition of Abandoned, the verbal use of the word Abandon.

Abandoned Places Series 1, Kildimo Area

I have been fiddling around on photoshop today. Have to say I'm quit pleased with myself, I have yet to go running for help yet!
These are some of my abandoned buildings that I have been working on. I've grouped certain ones together in hopes that they will flow from one image to the other nicely. The text at the bottom was taken from the online dictionary, from the definition of Abandoned, and the verb use of Abandon. The photos were taken with my Diana F+ camera.

The Gathering Project

My final image for the gathering project. The whole year was required to take part. Each piece will be hung in a large scale in Shannon Airport.
The photo was taken with my Diana camera, using expired film. I did the text and added the background in photoshop.

This piece could question the position of the traveler community in Ireland but it could also be a self portrait. That would be up to the viewer and in what context it is displayed.

The Gathering is an event created by the Irish economy to bring back Irish nationals or people of Irish heritage to Ireland so they will spend lots of money and boost our economy. I doubt it will be much of a success but at least there will be some interesting events going on around the country.

Omen -Photoshop

'Omen'

Was fiddiling around with my sketchbook image in photoshop, and somehow managed to get it to do what I wanted. I tidied it up a bit more and added a black background.. Worked out pretty good.

Original sketch done by acident and ....boredom, during a lecture. The last two were worked up in photoshop, and the last section of the poem, 'The Circus Animals Desertion' by W.B. Yeats was added.
