Young Artists Exhibition

The Exhibition which took place was in all a success. The night of the opening, the gallery space was packed out with people, there was hardly room to move. Many of the paintings sold on the first night, some were sold before the doors were completely open.
I was lucky in that all of my work sold, over the course of the two days.
It was a wonderful experience, and alot of fun.
Great publicity for the young artists showing there, and great publicity for the young art world in general.
Hopefully this will be one of many more to come!

Black Dog

Black Dog

This dog is based on a dream I had.

The background was down by rolling the waxed up plate through the press with sand paper, and then dipped in the acid for about twenty minutes.
I re-waxed the plate then etched the dog. I wasn't happy with the image so I then used aqua-tint to make the image darker.
I was happy with the over all effect, I like how the sand paper texture gives off a dream like, hazy effect.

Born a man

Original Sketch

"Those masterful images because complete
Grew in pure mind, but out of what began?
A mound of refuse or the sweepings of a street,
Old kettles, old bottles, and a broken can,
Old iron, old bones, old rags, that raving slut
Who keeps the till. Now that my ladder's gone,
I must lie down where all the ladders start
In the foul rag and bone shop of the heart."
-W.B. Yeats

Original sketch done by acident and ....boredom, during a lecture. The last two were worked up in photoshop, and the last section of the poem, 'The Circus Animals Desertion' by W.B. Yeats was added.

Young Artists Local Exhibition

This exhibition has been organized by my friend Martina Gleason. It is a group exhibition, opening on December third, and will be running all week.
The exhibition will be opened by Lady Dunraven, and 25 percent of all the proceeds go to the Adare Branch Alzheimer's Center.

I will post pictures of some of my work and others shortly, after the exhibition has opened.
