Mari Lowery

Came across a wonderful and very prolific artists called Mari Lowery. She does a lot of collages, photo alteration, and takes her own photos using mostly a Holga camera or a Diana. If you go to her Etsy store you will be overwhelmed by the amount of work she has done. It is well worth the look.

Rrrrrrrroll

This is Rrrrrrrroll. Amazing work making GIFs.
This anonymous collective of five photographers and artists create a new animated GIF every single week. Every GIF features something spinning in place, while the scenery around the person or thing stays eerily still. Sometimes it’s a woman spinng around, and other times it’s a random object twirling on its own.
I really need to know how to do this! Its amazing!! I'm in love!

Omen -Photoshop

'Omen'
Was fiddiling around with my sketchbook image in photoshop, and somehow managed to get it to do what I wanted. I tidied it up a bit more and added a black background.. Worked out pretty good.

Omen- etching

'Omen'
This is an etching that I did yesterday. It came out better than I thought. I added alot of weight to my lines and was worried they were to open for the ink to sit, but it seems to be fine. The only thing is there are one or two scratches and I am not sure if it adds to it or not....
This dosent really have anything to do with my current project, but it is nice to do something different, maybe I can tie it in somehow...
Im not sure I will hand colour these or do an aquatint, maybe I will aquatint another one on a seperate plate....
The image below has been taken from my sketchbook, I tweaked it in photoshop just to tidy up the binding line and such... I almost prefer the sketchbook image.

Andrew Wyeth

'Christina's World'
Probably one of my favorite paintings.......

"In the portraits of that house, the windows are eyes or pieces of the soul, almost. To me, each window is a different part of Christina's life."
-Andrew Wyeth

Odilon Redon

"Nature also requires us to pursue the gifts she has bestowed on us. Mine have led me into the world of dreams; I have allowed the torments of the imagination and the surprises that it came up with beneath my pen to flow over me; but I have led and guided them, these surprises, according to artistic laws, for the sole purpose of using a spontaneous stimulus to summon up in the beholder- to its- the uncertainty that lies at the extreme ends of thought."

Jeff Desom

Two videos by Jeff Desom, I really liked the imagery, and the simplicity of the piano.
